Starting in 2005, CATENA VERLAG will embark on a new occasional series entitled "Lecture Notes in GeoEcology". Leading experts from the academic world are being invited to publish expanded and polished up versions of subjects, topics, or even courses that they taught in their undergraduate or graduate classes. This series would appeal to students, as well as those who prefer greater flexibility of content and a more casual writing style as opposed to a rigid textbook format.

In essence, the Lecture Notes collection will contain the latest material and approaches of the respective contributors, gleaned from many years of teaching experience. The reader is also likely to find that their "Frequently Asked Questions" can be found and answered in this more liberal and informal book setting.
